The International Crimes Tribunal yesterday morning sent two alleged Razakars from Baralekha upazila in Moulvibazar district to jail as the police produced them before the court, reports BSS.
Abdul Mannan alias Monai Miah, 64, and Abdul Aziz alias Abul 63, were arrested on Tuesday within hours of issuing warrant against three including the duo by the ICT-1. Their accomplice in crimes Abdul Matin is still at large.
The first tribunal also set May 2, 2016, for submitting probe report in this case.
“Mannan alias Monai Miah was the leader of local Muslim League. Aziz and Matin are brothers and went to Barpunji camp in India to undergo training to fight the occupation forces. Later, they fled the camp and joined the Razakar Bahini in their locality, prosecutor Sabina Yesmin Khan Munni told BSS.
“The investigation officer launched probe against the trio on October 16, 2014, and found evidence of their involvement in crimes like rape, looting, abduction and arson,” she said.
