Youth to die for killing minor boy

Habiganj: A court yesterday convicted a youth and sentenced him to death for killing a minor boy in 2007, reports UNB. Additional District and Sessions Judge Mafroza Parvin sentenced Abdur Rashid, 30, of Baniachang upazila, to death while acquitted Siraj Mia and Saleh Ahmed as allegation brought against them could not be proved. According to the prosecution, Mehedi Hasan, 8, son of Abdul Hamid of Sadar upazila, was strangulated to death by Abdur Rashid over previous enmity on October 8, 2007. Swapna Begum, mother of the victim, filed a case with Sadar Police Station on the following day.
