Jamaat leader found dead

A Jhenidah district unit leader of Jamaat-e-Islami was found lying dead beside Jessore-Jhenidah road in Chura-mankathi Beltala area of Jessore district town on Monday night. Abu Huraira, 55, a resident of Ashwathali village of Jhenidah sadar upazila, and teacher of Kuthidhurgapur Dakhil Madrasah was picked up by ‘plainclothes policemen’ about one month six days ago, family members alleged. There were marks of injury on victim’s head and throat, said police. MA Hashem, officer-in-charge of Detective Branch of Police, Jhenidah, said, “We have never arrested the man.”
