Bangladesh aim to bounce back by winning against UAE today

Sports Reporter

Bangladesh are expected to have an easy ride as they take on UAE today in their second match of the Asia Cup at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. The match will provide them an opportunity to return to the winning groove after they were crushed by 45 runs at the hands of India in the Asia Cup opener.
The match starts at 7.30 pm and will be broadcasted live by several television channels around the world-- Star Sports (India), Geo Super, PTV Sports (Pakistan), MTV Sports (Sri Lanka), Channel 9 (Bangladesh), Willow TV (USA), SuperSport (South Africa).
Bangladesh are giving the match a more importance than they had given against India in the opener.
The sentiment has been echoed by Bangladesh ODI and T20 skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. He said that they have taken their preparation to win the match in a bid to claw back in the competition.
“Tomorrow’s match is very important for us to survive in the competition. At the same time, it’s also important for our preparation. We are taking our preparation in that way. Hopefully we could bounce back tomorrow,” said Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.
On paper though Bangladesh are stronger side, they didn’t take the UAE lightly.
“ If you look at UAE you’ll get to see that they have come here to play their best cricket at their level. So our goal will be to perform professionally and win the match,” he added.
Mashrafe said that they are formulating their game plan on the basis of UAE’s video clippings and other means.
“We have idea about them. We have video clippings of the team. But we have comparatively less idea about them than other teams. We are working out about them,” he informed.
The skipper said that they want to move forward with the positive mindset despite losing the last game.
“Actually, nothing can be changed overnight. In T20, we have many things to gain. There are some positive sides in the last match. We were in the match till 14-15 overs against the best batting line-up of India. We could have gone in more defensive mode after the overs of 15. We could reduce their run rate by not going in aggressive way. We were up to the mark at the certain period. We needed to finish well but we didn’t,” he said.
Bangladesh spent their time at hotel after the exciting first match on Wednesday.
