Former Bangladesh Bank governor AKN Ahmed died in Washington of the US on Wednesday. He was 85, reports UNB.
Ahmed, who served the central bank as its second governor from November 19, 1974 to July 13, 1976, breathed his last at a Washington hospital around 5:30am Bangladesh time.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman expressed deep shock at the death of the former central bank chief and conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved family members.
