4 killed in Tangail bus collision

TANGAIL: Four people were killed and five others injured when a bus collided head-on with a pickup van in Jogarchar area on the Tangail-Bangabandhu
Bridge Highway under Kalihati upazila of the district yesterday afternoon, reports BSS.
Three of the deceased were Raju Ahamed, 35, son of Abu Ahamed of Basail, Abdur Rahman, 50, son of late Sukur Ali of Afjalpur in Tangail district and Khadem, 40, son of Bakarbari, a resident of Belkuchi-Sohagpur in Sirajganj district.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bangabandhu Bridge East Thana Akheruzzaman said the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound bus collided head-on with a pickup van in the area at about 4 pm, leaving three pickup van passengers dead on the spot and five others injured.
The injured were sent to Tangail Medical College Hospital.
A case was filed in this connection.
