RANGPUR: Changing of mindset has become a must for preventing and reducing corruption to further accelerate the pace of national development, reports BSS
Speakers said this at a planning meeting organised yesterday by Ward No-4 Community Policing Forum of Mominpur union under Sadar upazila at Chandkuthi Government Primary School to adopt future work plans for preventing corruption in the area.
RDRS Bangladesh extended cooperation in arranging the meeting for members of the Community Policing Forum under its Justice Reform and Corruption Prevention (JRCP) Project with the assistance of German Development Cooperation (GIZ).
Sub-inspector of Kotwali Thana Mohammad Majnu Mian attended the meeting as the chief guest with General Secretary of Ward No-4 Community Policing Forum of Mominpur union Dulu Mian in the chair. The chief guest discussed the importance of involving common people in conducting anti-corruption and community policing activities and draft annual action plan on anti-corruption activities to be conducted in Ward No-4 this year.
He put emphasis on a changed social mindset, adopting effective work plans involving the local people and informing the local administrations for preventing crimes and corruption. The meeting discussed the activities conducted so far in preventing corruption in the area through creating mass awareness and the future annual action plans for the next period of the current year. The meeting endorsed action plan for conducting anti-corruption activities by Ward No-4 Community Policing Forum of Mominpur union this year.
