A three-day 4th National Phonosurgery Conference-2016 began at Milon Hall, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) yesterday, says a press release.
The conference was organised by ENT department of BSMMU and Association of Phonosurgeons of Bangladesh.
The aim of the conference is to inform how to restore the injured voice by phonosurgery.
For various reasons, everyday a huge increase in the number of patients affected with many injuries and illness of voice. Among many reasons, road accident is one of the major causes of vocal chord injury or distortion resulting to voice loss.
Politicians and vocal artists are affected everyday due to over use and misuse of the voice apparatus.
Professor Kamrul Hasan Khan, vice-chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, inaugurated the conference.
Pro Vice Chancellor (Academic) Md Ruhul Amin Miah, Pro-VC (Research & Development) Md Shahidullah Sikder, Pro-VC (Administration) Md Sharfuddin Ahmed, Registrar Md Ali Asgar Morol, organising committee chairman Kamrul Hassan Tarafdar spoke on the occasion, among others.
