7 �robbers� held; firearm, bullets seized

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested seven alleged robbers and recovered a firearm and four rounds of bullet foiling a robbery bid in Karbala area of Jessore town on Tuesday night, reports UNB.
Khatibur Rahman, senior warrant officer of Rab-6 Jessore camp, said being informed that a robber gang was staying at a house to commit robbery in the area, a team of the elite force conducted a raid on the house around 9:00pm.
Later, Rab members arrested seven of them while the rest managed to flee.
The arrestees were Hafijur Rahman Hafej, son of late Alauddin Sheikh of Bamanpara Karbala area, Taposh Biswas, son of Arobindu Biswas of Pashchim Barandipara Kadamtala, Ariful Islam Epu, son of Jindar Sheikh of Sujalpur Dharmatala, Shamim, son of Sayed Rawshan Ali of Jessore town, and Hasibur Rahman, son of late Akbar Master of Joypur village in Manirampur upazila in Jessore, and Hafizur Rahman, son of Abu Bakkar Sardar of Subhasini Sarkar Para in Tala upazila of Satkhira.
The elite force recovered a shutter gun and four rounds of bullet after searching the body of Hafijur Rahman Hafez.
Two cases were filed with Kotwali Police Station in this connection. Of the cases, one was filed against Hafez under the Arms Act.
