35 Jamaat-Shibir men held with petrol bombs

Police in a drive arrested 35 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir with petrol bombs at Nayanvari in Lalmohon upazila yesterday. District unit Jamaat ameer Mostafa Kamal and Lalmohon upazila Shibir president Abdullah Al Mamun were among the arrestees. Based on secret information that some Jamaat-Shibir men were holding a clandestine meeting at the house of Mowlana Nurullah at about 10.00 am, a police team launched a drive in the house and arrested the 35 people, said Officer-in-charge of Lalmohon police station Akteruzzaman. Police also recovered seven petrol bombs from the spot.
