Automobile experts including academics and entrepreneurs sought extra funds for academic research enabling engineering students to demonstrate their innovations.
At a seminar staged by Automobile Association of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), they also suggested the universities to give priority on research and development (R&D) in the field of country’s automobile sector to save fuel as well as environment from pollution.
They urged the business conglomerates and corporate organisations to move forward with the financial assistance to help the universities to carry on R&D activities.
Former vice chancellor of BUET and founding vice chancellor of AUST Professor Dr M H khan joined as the chief guest the seminar titled “Future
of Automobile sector in Bangladesh” held recently.
Former vice chancellor of CUET Professor Dr Shymal Kanti Biswas, Musa Ali Khan of Shell Bangladesh, Eng Mirza Abu Fahim of Navana Ltd, Shymal Das of Energypac Power generation Ltd, Liakat Ali of Petredec LPG and senior officials from different automobile companies, among others, were present on the occasion.
Vice President of AUST Automobile Association Hasan Imam Shuvo narrated their activities such as recent participation in global contest “shell eco marathon” as a first team of Bangladesh.
He also highlighted their upcoming project and reviewed the performance of automobile projects for 2015.
“We will establish Aust Automobile Association as a trusted brand by satisfying students’ need offering desired services. Let’s dream and dare together for a better future,” vowed Hasan Imam.
