Shilpakala to screen Thai film ‘Holy Man 2’ today

‘The Holy Man-2’, a sequel from 2005 popular Thai comedy film ‘The Holy Man’, will be screened today at the  National Theatre Hall Archive of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), as a part of the ongoing 13-day film festival. The film is written and directed by Note Chern-Yim.
In observation of Shaheed Dibas and International Mother Language Day, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) has organised a 13-day film festival titled ‘Nanan Bhasar Nanan Chalachitra’ from February 16 to 29 (Except February 27) at the premises of BSA, Segun Bagicha in the capital. The festival, featuring films from different countries and languages, is screening one film each day from the International Digital Cultural Archive of BSA.
‘The Holy Man-2’ follows its success from the previous 2005 popular Thai comedy film ‘The Holy Man’. In the sequel, the King of Thai Rapper Joey Boy plays the leading role as the young monk Luang Phi Tet who comes to the small village. He thus replaces his predecessor Luang Phi Teng who has gone to Tibet. He wants to become a forest monk but faces many obstacles. Nevertheless, Luang Phi Tet comes to a temple close to a quarry. Every time there are explosions in the mountain, the temple is damaged with debris and monks have to wear helmets to protect their heads. The situation is dangerous and the monk wants to help. The story of the film moves forward from there.
