Bailey bridge collapses in Bandarban

A bailey bridge collapsed at Khansama on Bandarban-Ruangchhari road in Bandarban yesterday morning.
Police and district administration sources said the bridge caved in when a sand-loaded truck was passing through it.
At least three people, including the truck driver, were injured.
Police, fire fighters, BGB and Army personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the people.
Road communication with the district town has been snapped following the accident.
About 20 bailey bridges on Bandarban-Waijongtion and Ruma road are in a dilapidated state and may collapse any time.
