4 fined for carrying jatkas

Laxmipur: A mobile court yesterday fined four people Tk 5,000 each for carrying jatkas (hilsa fries less than 10 inches in length) in a pickup in Piarpur area of Sadar upazila, reports UNB.
The convicts are two fish traders Padar Bhandari and Anwar Hossain, pickup driver Jasim Uddin and his helper Selim Uddin.
Police in a drive arrested the four along with the pickup carrying jatkas from the area while they were going to the capital from Motirhat area of Kamalnagar upazila early yesterday.
Later, they were produced before the mobile court, led by sadar upazila nirbahi officer and executive magistrate Mohammad Nuruzzaman, which slapped the fine on them.
