Cop killed in fellow�s �firing�

A police constable was killed as a bullet fired ‘mistakenly’ from the rifle of his colleague at Sukhi Nilganj Police Lines in Rangamati yesterday, reports UNB. Police super Sayed Tariqul Hasan said the incident took place when constable Sourav Barua was talking to constable Purna Barua at their room on his return from duty around 11:45 am, a bullet from Sourav’s rifle hit Purna, leaving him critically wounded. Sourav also fell unconscious at the ‘unexpected’ incident. They were taken to General Hospital where doctors declared Purna dead. Purna hailed from East Gozra Hoara para in Raujan upazila of Chittagong. Sourav was moved to Chittagong from Rangamati for better treatment.
