New pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman, who showed his scintillation with cherry after coming to the international cricket arena, is now waiting to make his debut in the upcoming Asia Cup Twenty20 2016.
Mustafiz expressed his firm desire to come back with his lethal weapon off-cuter in the Asia Cup to be commenced from February 24 though the qualifying round has been started since February 19.
Rahman said that he has no specific target in this Asia Cup but he will try to give his utmost best for the team if he got chance to play.
“Actually I have no target in the forthcoming Asia Cup Twenty20 2016,” said Mustafizur Rahman, who played 17 Twenty20 international matches for Bangladesh and claimed 24 wickets with the best figures of 3-14.
“I have not played Asia Cup yet. It will be my first game in Asia Cup. I thanked coach and selectors to keep me in the squad. As they keep me in the Asia Cup squad so I will try to deliver my best effort for the team,” Rahman told media after the finish of the first day practice for the Asia Cup.
This time Asia Cup will be held ahead of the ICC World Twenty20 2016 in India, starting from March 8 to April 3.
The left-handed pacer said that they are optimistic about the good result in the five-nation tournament.
“We have held our practice session at Khulna and Chittagong after the end of the last home series against Zimbabwe. We’ve started our practice again in Dhaka. Everything is in right order. Hopefully we could do well ahead,” the 20-year-old pacer said.
“I like much one day international format games than Twenty20. I will try to give my best.”
About injury status, Mustafiz said, “I’m quite well. Practice is going on. We’ve four days ahead. Hopefully we could do well.
Satkhira-born lad said that they will try to be champions.
“I like to play cricket. And when I play a game I try to become champion in it,” the off- cutter master told in response to a query.

They reported under the strength and conditioning coach Mario Villavarayan. Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha and fast-bowling coach Heath Streak were also present.
