Science Technology Fair held
The faculty of Science, Engineering Technology of Hamdard University Bangladesh organised a day-long Science Technology Fair 2016 Thursday on its own campus in the capital, says a press release.
The programme was divided into two parts; in the first part students from different colleges participated in Science Olympiad. A total of 112 students from 9 colleges attended the programme. In the second part, students from Hamdard University Bangladesh took part in the project fair, who exhibited 41 projects. The Managing Director of Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh and Founder of Hamdard University Bangladesh, Dr Hakim Md Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan was present as the chief guest at the programme.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr. Tanvir Ahmed Khan and Brig. Gen. (Rtd.) M Sakhawat Hussain attened as the special guest. Dean, Faculty of Science, Engineering Technology, Professor Dr Md Ismail Jabiullah presided over the programme.
Seminar on projects of JU Social Science Faculty held
SAVAR: A seminar on projects of Social Science Faculty of Jahangirnagar University (JU) was held at the facultys seminar room on the campus yesterday.
JU Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Farzana Islam inaugurated the seminar as the chief guest while Pro-VC Professor Abul Hossain addressed as the special guest. Presided over by the Dean of JU Social Science faculty professor Dr Amir Hossain. A total of 25 research papers were presented at the seminar. University Grants Commission provided financial assistance for conducting these researches.
ULAB observes Intl Mother Language Day
University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organised a discussion and cultural programme at its auditorium on Wednesday in observance of Language Martyrs International Mother Language Day, says a press release.
The programme started with a recitation by ULAB students. ULAB Emeritus Professor Rafiqul Islam then delivered his key speech, in which he discussed about the language movement and in particular his active involvement in the movement.
In the morning of the same day, ULAB Vice Chancellor Imran Rahman inaugurated a book and photography exhibition. All the photographs were of the language movement, and most of them were taken by ULAB Emeritus Professor Rafiqul Islam. In that period he was closely involved and a direct witness of this historic event of the country.
ULAB Shangskriti Shangshad performed at the end of the programme. UGC Chairman Abdul Mannan, ULAB Vice Chancellor Imran Rahman, ULAB Pro-Vice Chancellor HM Jahirul Haque, along with the faculty and students of ULAB were also present at the event, among others.
ASA University holds freshers reception
Faculty of Business, ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB), organised a freshers reception for its Spring Semester-2016 students followed by a cultural programme yesterday, says a press release.
Chairman, Board of Trustees, ASAUB, Md Shafiqual Haque Choudhury was present as the chief guest while dean, faculty of business Prof Md Nazrul Islam presided over the programme. Vice Chancellor of ASAUB Dalem Ch. Barman was present as special guest. Prof AKM Helal uz Zaman, Tresurer Prof Md Muinuddin Khan, adviser of ASAUB were present as guest of honour. Chairman of Business Dept ProfIqbal Hossain, Prof Abu Daud Hasan, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Science and Registrar Md Khalequzzaman also spoke, among others.
Md. Saiful Alam, Dean (In Charge), Faculty of Law, Mr. Md. Ashraful Haq Chowdhury, Additional Registrar, Mr. Mohammad Masudur Rahman, deputy registrar, teachers and students from the department of business administration, officials were also present.
