Asian giants to arrive from Feb 22

Micromax Informatics Limited, the 10th largest handset player in the world, bagged the title sponsorship rights for Asia Cup T20, 2016.

Twenty First Century Media Pvt. Ltd. and Micromax have entered into an agreement and the event will be now titled as Micromax T-20 Asia Cup.
Top four cricket teams of the continent--India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh—along with other Asian nation, qualified through a qualifier leg, battling to secure the title of Champions of Asia.
India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the three giants, who shared the title of previous nine editions, are expected to land Dhaka from February 22. Meanwhile, Bangladesh team returned to the capital on Tuesday after completing their first two phase camps in Khulna and Chittagong.
This year the tournament will be hosted by Bangladesh and is scheduled to run from February 24 to March 6. Star India is the official media rights holder for the Asia Cup tournaments.
Commenting on the association, Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax Informatics said, “Cricket is a sport that millions of people across the world are extremely passionate about and truly represents the zeal of today’s youth. Announcing the sponsorship Lokesh Sharma, Managing Director, Twenty First Century Media Pvt. Ltd. said, “Micromax is a vibrant brand, close to the heart of youth; one which is a good match to the dynamic and vibrant nature of this event. As we come together to present an action packed cricket series of the year, we expect this event to be bigger and grander than ever.”
Commenting on the Micromax becoming title sponsor of the event ACC President Thilanga Sumathipala said ‘ACC delighted to have Micromax as title sponsor of the event and ACC look forward to working together for the success of the event’.  
The television coverage of the entire series is being produced and broadcasted by India’s leading sports channel Star Sports. State run Bangladesh Television, private channel Gazi TV and Massranga Television will also telecast the matches.
Meanwhile, the BCB announced the ticket price of the Asia Cup which kicked of through a qualifier round from February 19. Four countries- Afghanistan, Oman, UAE and Hong Kong will take part in the qualifying leg match after which one country will join the top four teams- Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The lowest ticket price of the qualifying leg is set Tk. 20 while the highest in Tk. 100. The qualifier round will be hosted by two venues- Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium and Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium which is the sole venue of the tournament proper.
During the main event, the ticket price of the Easter Gallery will be Tk. 150, North/South Stand Tk. 250, Shaheed Mushtaque and Jewel Stand Tk. 500, Grand Stand Tk. 1000 and VIP Stand Tk. 3000.
In a press release, the BCB also informed the tickets of the main round matches (Feb. 24 – Mar. 06) will be available before each match day. Depending on availability, tickets will be sold on match days.
Tickets will be available in three branches of Narayanganj UCB Bank- Narayanganj, Chasara and Kanchpur while five branches in Dhaka—Sonargaon, Bijoynagar, Progoti Sarani, Noyabazar and Bashundhara.
The main event of the Asia Cup will get underway with the match between Bangladesh and India on February 24.
The champions will be awarded US$ 60,000 while the runners up will get US$ 30,000 as the prize money. Man of the tournament will pocket US$ 12,5000 and the Man of the Final will be awarded US$ 7, 500. Winning money each match is decided US$ 10000 and the man of the match will get US$ 5000.
