Use transparent glass at ATM booths: BB

Bangladesh Bank asked the country's 56 commercial banks to use transparent glass in all ATM booths and requested all women to uncover their faces at the time of transaction in ATM booths, reports BSS.
"Bangladesh Bank has taken every steps to check the fraudulence in ATM booths of banks," BB Executive Director Subhankar Saha told the journalists after emerging from a meeting with all commercial banks officials at the central bank headquarter here today.
BB also asked all banks to install anti-skimming devices at all of their ATM booths to check fraudulent activities and ensure security of the depositors' money, the executive director said.
BB also said that all the new ATM booths should have the similar devices from the very beginning.
The bank also advised for providing necessary training to the ATM guards to help protect ATM booths and check unauthorized transactions there.
