Rangamati: The first-ever census of unregistered Rohingya population in Bangladesh is going on in full swing in Rangamati to determine their exact number throughout the district, reports UNB.
Total 36 supervisors and 355 enumerators are working in the district to find out the number of Rohingya people existing in the region.
The census started on February 12 in the ten upazilas of the district.
The census duration has been extended till February 20 although it was first scheduled to complete on February 17.
However, the counting activities started on February 12 in six districts simultaneously under the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistic’s (BBS) Chittagong divisional office aiming to resolve the long-pending issue in a systemic and transparent way.
