Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim yesterday placed The Chittagong Medical University Bill, 2016 in the Jatiya Sangsad for establishing a higher seat of education and research in the health sector of the country, reports BSS.
Placing the bill, Nasim said the establishment of the proposed medical university at Chittagong would help the expansion of higher education, research, standard of service and facilities in the medical sector.
Later the House, with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair, sent the bill to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health Ministry and asked to report back by 30 days after scrutiny.
