Jibanananda remembered

A two-day 'Jibanananda Mela' marking the 117th birth anniversary of the great Bengali Poet Jibanananda Das began at Govt BM College playground in the city yesterday.
The fair was organised by 'Uttaran', a cultural organisation of BM College.
Chairman of Barisal Education Board Prof Md Ziaul Huq inaugurated the programme while principal of the college Prof SM Imanul Hakim attended as the chief guest. The programme was addressed, among others, by Prof Shah Sazeda, Prof Kayum Uddin. On other hand, Jatiya Kabita Parishad Barisal unit and Jibananda Das Academy organised a programme at the Poet Jibanananda Memorial Hall at the parental house of the poet on Kabi Jibanananda Das Sarak in the city yesterday
