Manna�s 8th death anniversary today

Today is the 8th death anniversary of late actor Manna, who, for his versatile acting quality, was one of the most popular actors of the Dhaka film industry. Manna Foundation has organised daylong milad mahfil and reciting from the holy Quran across the country to mark the day. SM Aslam Talukder (December 6, 1964 February 17, 2008), better known by stage name Manna, was a Bangladeshi film actor and producer. He performed in more than two hundred films and achieved the National Film Award as the Best Actor in 2006.
Born in 1964 at Elenga in Tangail District, Mannas acting career started in 1984 after he was discovered through a talent search program by the National Film Development Corporation of Bangladesh. Manna was the General Secretary of the Bangladesh Film Actors Association. As the General Secretary, he was active in the ongoing movement against vulgarity in the Dallywood film industry. One of the first films that brought him to attention was Danga (1992). Other commercially successful movies are Traash, Chadabaaz and Amma Jaan. However, Manna acted in 10 movies each year. Manna-acted notable films are Sipahi, Jantrana, Amar, Pagli, Danga, Tras, Janatar Baadshah, Laal Baadshah, Ammajaan, Desh Daradi, Andha Aine, Swami Swtir Juddha, Abuj Shishu, Mayer Marjada, Ma Babar Swapna, Hridoy Theke Paowa, etc. Manna died on February 17 in 2008 following a heart attack.
