Birpratik Taramon Bibi, 68, is undergoing treatment for severe respiratory and lung ailments at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH). Taramon Bibi, who made glorious contributions during the War of Liberation, was admitted to the hospital’s coronary care unit (CCU) on Monday noon. She was brought to the hospital from her home at Rajibpur in Kurigram district. She is now undergoing treatment under the supervision of Dr SK Apu and Dr Ashish Kumar Roy of MMCH. Dr SK Apu said Taramon Bibi was given oxygen support yesterday to keep her breathing normal. Her condition was improving gradually, he told his correspondent yesterday. “The necessary medical tests have already been conducted, and it has also been found that the patient has been suffering from lung diseases for a long time,” he added. MMCH director Brig. Gen. Nasir Uddin Ahamed said the hospital authorities will bear all the treatment expenses of Taramon Bibi.
