Walton Group accorded a reception to Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz for his stellar performance in the just concluded ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2016 at the conference room of their office in the capital yesterday.
Miraz led Bangladesh from the front and lifted at the semifinal stage of the youth World Cup for the first-ever time.
The 19-year-old, who captained Bangladesh in World Cup for the second time since 2014, was awarded the player of the tournament for his stunning all-round performance. He scored 242 runs with four fifties and 12 wickets with the best figures of 3-28 from six outings.
The all-rounder, who works for Walton as youth ambassador, received crest, primo mobile set alongside a cheque of Tk one lakh.
Walton executive director (Policy and HRM) SM Zahid Hasan, its operation director (creative and publication) Uday Hakim, senior deputy director (personnel management and media) Firoz Alam and deputy director (creative and publication) Milton Ahmed were also present.
“Walton is sponsoring in sports arena of Bangladesh especially in cricket continuously. I feel proud of getting reception from Walton. It will inspire me to do more well in days to come,” said Miraz in his reaction at the reception ceremony.
