icddr,b’s board of trustees has reappointed its executive director Prof John Clemens for a second three-year term, starting in April 2016, reports UNB.
Dr Clemens first worked for the international health research institution in the 980s, at the start of a career that has spanned academia, government and other international organisations.
He returned to icddr,b as its executive director in April 2013, said a press release on Tuesday. “Dr Clemens’ first term was spent successfully strengthening the institution, and focusing its science on the key public health challenges facing Bangladesh and other emerging economies,” said icddr,b board chair, Dr Richard Smith.
