Jibanananda�s 117th birth anniv today

The 117th birth anniversary of the great poet Jibanananda Das will be observed today. Jatiya Kabita Parishad Barisal unit, Jibananando Dash Sangsad and BM College Cultural organisation arranged the separate programmes marking the day.
The BM Collage based cultural organization also organised a Jibonanando Mela on the campus today. On other hand like previous years, Jatiya Kabita Parishad Barisal unit arranged programme at the Poet Jibanananda Memorial Hall at the parental house of the poet on Kabi Jibanananda Das Sarak in the city this morning. He was born on February 17, 1899 in Barisal, Jibanananda wrote poems featuring transition to modern Bangla poetry and died in a road accident on October 22, 1954 in  Kolkata.
