One killed as trawler hits fishing boat

A fisherman drowned and four others were injured as a fishing boat capsized in the river Meghna in Bhasondanga area under Tazumuddin upazila of the district yesterday morning.
The victim was identified as Abul Kalam, 50, son of Abul Hossain of Char  Jangalia village under Manpura upazila of the district.
Police said a Hatia-bound passenger launch from Dhaka named 'MV Faran-3' hit a fishing boat, carrying the fishermen early today.
Kamal went missing since the accident while four other fishermen suffered injuries.Other fishermen rescued the injured and sent them to Barisal Sadar Hospital.
Later, fishermen recovered the body of Kamal from near the capsize spot.
