Police yesterday shut down the stall of ‘Badwip Publications' at Amar Ekushey Book Fair for selling books with contents that hurt the religions sentiment of Muslims, reports UNB. The stall was shut down following an allegation that the book ‘Islam Bitarka’, a compilation of essays containing contents that hurt the sentiment of Muslims. Shamsuzzoha Manik edited the book. Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Maruf Hossain Sorder said police launched a drive at the stall in the afternoon and shut it down. They also seized some books of the publication house and detained two employees for interrogation, he said.
