RANGPUR: Cultural activists at a day-long views-sharing meeting here have vowed for creating social awareness through cultural activists to eradicate the curable disease tuberculosis, reports BSS.
National Anti-Tuberculosis Association of Bangladesh (NATAB) organised the district level meeting on 'Role of Cultural Organisations in Launching Social Movemenent for Preventing Tuberculosis' on Sunday at Shilpakala Academy auditorium in the city.
With NATAB district unit member Hossain Abed Ali in the chair, General Secretary of District Shilpakala Academy Tauhidur Rahman Tutul attended the meeting as the chief guest. Junior Consultant (Chest Disease) of Rangpur Medical College and Hospital Dr Farhad Alam participated in the meeting as the main resource person.
General Secretary of Uttaron Samajik-Sangskritik Sangathan Shahidul Islam Hira, Adviser of Rangpur district unit of Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela Raihan Uddin, also addressed.
Member of district unit of NATAB Asaduzzaman Afzal delivered the welcome speech narrating the goals and objectives of the district level views-sharing of the organisation with leaders and activist of different cultural organisations.
Resource person Dr Farhad Alam delivered power point presentation narrating the reasons behind tuberculosis infection, its prevention and the existing free treatment facilities across the country.
