Former Bangladesh skipper Shafiqul Haq Heera’s autobiography ‘Keeping Gloves’ was unveiled in the presence of friends, family members and some of his teammates at the media block of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) yesterday.
Raisuddin Ahmed, former vice president of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) unveiled the book as the chief guest.
The 136-page book, edited by sports journalist Shamim Chowdhury, published by Bishwashahittya Bhabon, has been priced at Tk 600.00. The book is available in the outlet of Bishwashahittya Bhabon in Amar Ekusey Boimela. The book has been dedicated to his teammate and shaheed Abdul Halim Chowdhury Jewel, Daulat Zaman and Ziaur Rahman Masud.
The book features description of Heera’s upbringing, cricket career before and after liberation war, first participation in national team after the independence, captaincy in ICC trophy, manager for national team in different periods alongside his education and family life.
