Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained four persons with arms, one lakh Indian rupees and jihadi books from Hili area in Hakimpur upazila on Saturday night. The arrestees have been identified as Babul Hossain, 43, Lokman Hossain Belal, 55, owner of a hotel, its manager Shahbul Islam, 23, and Jahid, 32. BGB officials confirmed the arrest and the recovery of firearms and jihadi books at a press briefing yesterday.Lt. Col. Khabir Sarker, commanding officer of Joypurhat – 3 Battalion, said they arrested Babul from Charmatha of Hakimpur Bazaar with a 9mm pistol on Saturday afternoon. Based on his confessional statement the BGB team raided a hotel at around 9.30am and seized two more pistols, three bullets, three magazines, 20 jihadi books, said the BGB official. Indian one lakh rupees has also been seized from room.
