Bangladesh Army Chief General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq on Saturday visited the UN base in Kidal camp in Mali, where three UN peacekeepers from Guinea were killed and 30 wounded in an attack by local miscreants on Friday morning. During his visit to the Kidal camp General Belal talked to the Bangladeshi peacekeepers, who were safe from the attack, according to the military sources. Eight mortar shells were fired at the base and there was also gunfire at about 7am at the the MINUSMA base in Kidal on Friday, said Olivier Salgado, a spokesman for the UN peacekeeping mission, according to an ISPR press release issued on Friday.
