Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced Bangladesh squad for the upcoming Micromax Asia Cup T20 Bangladesh 2016 without opener Tamim Iqbal yesterday.
Hard Hitting opener Tamim, who is now playing in Pakistan Super League (PSL) for Peshawar Zalmi, will then be in paternal leave as he will be father for the first time at that time.
Opener Imrul Kayes, who was standby in Bangladesh World Cup squad for the forthcoming ICC World Twenty20 2016, entered the final squad of the Asia Cup in place of Tamim.
Bangladesh will host the 13th edition but fifth at home yard, starting February 20 to March 6 following the qualifying round to be held in between February 19-22.
Bangladesh will face-off India in the opener of the five-nation tournament at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) on February 24.
