Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), one of the largest peer-to-peer global networks of entrepreneurs officially launches EO Bangladesh chapter on Saturday at Westin Hotel in the capital.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Narsul Hamid was present as the chief guest while president of International Chamber of Commerce, Bangladesh Mahbubur Rahman and Chairman of Summit Group Md. Aziz Khan were present as guest of honour.
EO Global Chairman Gilberto Crombe was also present on the occasion.
The Entrepreneurs’ Organization is a global network of more than 11,000 influential business owners with 154 chapters in 49 countries. EO is the catalyst that enables leading entrepreneurs to learn and grow leading to greater success in business and beyond.
Hossain Khaled, president of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and managing director of Anwar Group of Industries is the incumbent President of EO Bangladesh Chapter.
Nasrul Hamid said that the people of Bangladesh inherently prefers to take challenge which is important for an entrepreneur. In terms of economic development Bangladesh is moving ahead rapidly, he said.
Mahbubur Rahman, president of International Chamber of Commerce, Bangladesh, said that the entrepreneurs should have the courage and target of fulfilling the SDG. He urged that entrepreneurship development course should be included in our curriculum for creating next generation entrepreneurs. He expressed his hope that EO Bangladesh will be platform where entrepreneurs could get learning and sharing experiences of each other.
Global EO Chairman Gilberto Crombe said that 153 Chapters of EO are being operated in 49 countries across the world. He said EO Bangladesh Chapter will work to foster development and inclusive growth within the entrepreneurs’ community of Bangladesh. Chairman of Summit Group Md. Aziz Khan said that in the open market economy entrepreneurs are the catalyst of managing demand and supply of products.
He said that based on the private sector power generation policy, private sector entrepreneurs of Bangladesh are now producing quality power in the country. He also said that 70 per cent of our population has got access to electricity now in Bangladesh.
