7 vessels fined Tk 2.15 lakh in Ctg port

A mobile court fined seven lightererage vessels Tk 2. 15 lakh in Chittagong port yesterday, for operating ships without having licenses, not keeping security equipment in vessels.

The court was led by Chittagong administrative magistrate and executive magistrate of Chittagong Port Authority Abul Hashem.
The fined vessels were --MV AL Insan, MV Sayeem Ahmed, MV Golden Rubi, T Raisa, MV AKM Shahnewaz, MT Rajonigondha, and MV Kazi Sonia. Abul Hashem said seven lightererage vessels were fined for overloading vessels and operating ships without having licenses. The vessels T Raisa was fined Tk 70, 000 for polluting environment.
The court also sentenced a man named Abu Taher to three months imprisonment for his illegal entrance in Port area, Hashem added.
