Mob torches microbus

An angry mob torched a microbus after it hit two pedestrians in Jatrabari area of the capital yesterday, leaving one dead, reports UNB. Tofazzal Hossain alias Malo, 60, was declared dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) while his nephew Jasim was undergoing treatment at the hospital. DMCH sources said the microbus crashed into Tofazzal and Jasim who were standing on the road island at Shanir Akhra around 3:30pm after its driver lost his control over the steering. Outraged at the accident, the mob set fire to the microbus. On information, two fire-fighting units went to the spot and doused the flame. However, the driver managed to flee the scene.
