President of the State of Palestine and Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas will brief latest updates regarding the Palestinian situation, especially the condition of the holy city of Jerusalem, to the Bangladesh government during his short visit to Dhaka on February 13 at midnight. During his first stop-over in Dhaka, on way to visit to three other Asian countries-Thailand, Korea and Japan, Abbas will brief his country’s situation to the government at a meeting to be held at the VIP lounge of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport early Sunday, according to a press release issued by the Palestine embassy in Dhaka. Abbas, who will lead a 15-member delegation, will reach the airport around 12:30am on Sunday. Foreign Minister AH Mahmud Ali will receive the Palestine president. Along with Ali, State Minister for power Nasrul Hamid and officials concerned will be present at the meeting. All the Arab heads of mission in Dhaka will also be present, the press release added. Besides the Palestine issue, the aggressive Israeli policy that has been intensified since September 2015, resulting in the deaths of 170 innocent Palestinian women, youth and children, will also be discussed at the meet, read the release. Issues of mutual interest between Palestine and Bangladesh will also be addressed at the meeting.
