Kaniz Fatema Mohsina, mother of Comrade Haidar Akbar Khan Rono, a presidium member of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), died of old-age complications at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the early hours of yesterday. She was 92, reports BSS. Mohsina, wife of late Hatem Ali Khan, the first chief engineer of the Roads and Highways Department in Bangladesh, left behind two sons -- Haidar Akbar Khan Rono and valiant freedom fighter Haidar Anwar Khan Juno -- a host of relatives and well wishers to mourn her death. She was a close associate of Poet Sufia Kamal, a pioneer of women movement in Bangladesh.
