Fog disrupts ferry services at Paturia, Shimulia

Dense fog yesterday widely disrupted transport services, including ferry boats crossing the huge expanse of the Padma, both at Shimulia and Paturia respectively, for six-seven hours, BIWTC sources reported.
Services between Paturia and Daulatdia were shut from 2 am till 8.30 am, with five ferries unable to negotiate the Padma and sandbars dotting the river amid thick fog. This resulted in several night coaches, cars, trucks and other vehicles stuck on both sides of the river in the cold night.
