Man gets life term for killing mother in Gazipur

A Gazipur court yesterday sentenced a man to life term for killing his mother in 2005. Additional District and Sessions Judge of Gazipur Judge Court (2nd court) Md Iqbal Hossain handed down the verdict.
The convict was identified as Sanaullah (40) , son of Mohammed Hekim Mollah of Mollar Tek village under Kapasia upazila in Gazipur district.
According to the case details, Sanaullah demanded money to his sister Fatema Begum on May 7 in 2005, but she denied his demand. Later, Sanaullah attacked Fatema with sharp weapons. While their mother Delowara Begum came to protect Fatema , Sanaullah also hacked his mother, leaving her dead on the spot. Deceased husband (Sanaullahs father) Mohammed Hekim Mollah filed a case with Kapasia police station in this connection against Sanaullah on that day. Police arrested Sanaullah from his house after the day. Sub-inspector of Kapasia police station Binoy Krishno Kor submitted the chargesheet against Sanaullah on January 18 in 2006.
