Prove friendship through behaviour, urges DMP chief

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia yesterday asked policemen to behave in a manner that proves they are the people’s friends, reports UNB. The DMP Commissioner came up with the remark during the opening session of an orientation course for newly posted police members into the DMP, held at Rajarbagh Police Lines auditorium in the capital. “We have to behave well with all the residents of the capital as discharging duty in DMP is more challenging compared to other police units or district police,” the DMP commissioner said. “We have to pay attention that nobody gets hurt from our conduct,” the Commissioner said. Alerting the cops, the DMP Commissioner asked the newly posted policemen to discharge their duties with care, maintaining the chain of command. He also announced Saturdays as cleaning day for the Rajarbagh Police Lines. Planning, Research and Human Resource division of DMP organised the orientation course for the newly joined police members who were posted to DMP from different police units across the country. DC (Headquarters) of DMP Md Anwar Hossain presided over the opening session where Additional Police Commissioner (Admin, Inspection and Audit) Md Shahab Uddin Quraishee also addressed the function.
