The number of subscribers of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (REB) has reached to 14.2 million people until January, says a press release.
In line with the Vision 2021, REB has taken up a number of activities at hand including construction of new power distribution lines and sub-centres, the statement said.
The REB aims to bring 90 per cent of the population under power supply by 2018.
During the last month, 325,000 new subscriptions were added across the country.
REB Chairman Major Gen Moin Uddin thanked all the employees of Pally Bidyut Samities (Rural Electricity Societies) for the achievement, the statement added.
