India want focus on own Game, says Kishan

Sports Reporter

It was predicted by the pundits that the semifinal of the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup will be an Asian affair. But West Indies entered the semifinal for the second time proving the prediction false.
They will take on the host Bangladesh in the semifinal to be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on February 11.
Although Sri Lankan U-19 skipper Charith Asalanka disappointed for their batting performance in the semifinal against India he said that the final will be an Asian affair, where both India and Bangladesh have chance to lift the trophy of the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup.
“It’s really tough question. But India and Bangladesh have realistic chance in this World Cup,” said Charith Asalanka, whose immediate goal is to play for Sri Lanka-A’s next tour.
Charith Asalanka said that they made a solid start but could not carry on the initial momentum.
“I think we took the right decision to get the advantage of the pitch. Earlier, we bowled really well and got two wickets inside 30 runs,” Asalanka said.
“But we could not carry on it. I think we adjust to fast bowlers. They were really tired. They should stop now,” he also said.
He said that he have taken the decision to chase from their recent experience that they gathered from the last tri-nation series and the couple of World Cup matches.
“I think for the last four matches of the tri-nation, we have chased 284 runs in the first match. We’ve lost the match by four-five runs. After that, we’ve played two games, where we batted first and scored 220 runs in the first game and in the final match we scored just 158 runs. that’s why we have decided to bowl first and chase,” he reckoned.
“Last match against England we took just one fast bowler and won the match. But today we took two fast bowlers. That’s why, we have decided to field first after winning the toss.”
“But we should have got another fast bowler to put the pressure on Indian side,” he told in response to a query .
On the other hand, Indian U-19 skipper Ishan Kishan said they are focusing on their own performance not to think much about their opponent.
“We don’t care about any team. We just focus on our game. What we have done in our matches. We know we can do much better and from there our fielding was not up to the mark. But we still hope whatever team comes in the final we will do our best there,” said Isahan Kisahan, who was out for paltry score yet again.
“Obviously the bulk of the mind we think that India was champion three times. Just we are in the final. We have five days in hands before the final. So, we are thinking not to take the pressure in mind. Just we are up to focus on our own game. We are in the process of it and do well in the final,” Kishan said at post-match briefing.
