The regional office of Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institutions (BSTI) has expedited drives against the manufacturing of substandard and adulterated food and fined owners of some edible oil and food factories Taka 72,000 in Rajshahi on Monday.
According to the officials concerned, the BSTI in cooperation with the district administration conducted mobile court in Saheb Bazar in Rajshahi city and at Darusha under Paba Upazila.
The court led by Executive Magistrate Parveen Sultana lodged separate cases against three owners of oil and food factories on charges of manufacturing, possessing and selling of substandard and unhygienic food items together with violation of BSTI rules and regulations.
