Make income tax act effective to boost revenue

An easy, time-befitting and generally acceptable income tax act will help accelerate revenue collection and expedite the economic prospects, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq said yesterday, reports BSS.
Drawing attention of tax authorities to this issue, the minister also suggested making all tax related rules and regulations available in Bangla so people can understand those easily and act accordingly without going through the hassle of language barrier.
The minister was addressing as the chief guest at a consultation meeting on “Formulation of Tax Payers Friendly and Business Friendly Income Tax Act” at National Board of Revenue (NBR) headquarters in the city. NBR organised the meeting with its Chairman M Nojibur Rahman in the chair.
