A total of 23 fast bowlers have been selected for the final round of Robi Fast Bowler Hunt programme at two different venues in Dhaka yesterday.
Of them, fourteen fast bowlers have been picked from Mirpur and nine has been sorted out from Uttara.
One of the leading mobile phone operators of the country, Robi Axiata Limited and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are jointly organising this exciting campaign, powered by Robi’s Super Fast Internet, according to a press release.
At City Club Ground, a total of 2000 fast bowlers registered for the pacer hunt programme, of which 925 were eligible to take part in the trial sessions.
Hanif Bhuiyan, chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) grounds committee inaugurated the event at City Club Ground. National team pacer Al Amin Hossain made a guest appearance at the venue. His presence had an immediate impact on the morale of the young fast bowlers.
No female fast bowlers were selected in Dhaka phase.
The fastest ball was recorded at 134 kph in Mirpur, where Rahi from Sirajgonj showed the identical speed alongwith Masud.
At Uttara Friends’ Club Ground, a total of 2000 fast bowlers registered for the hunt, of which around 1000 were eligible to participate in the trial sessions.
The fast bowler hunt sessions will be held at 16 different locations across the country one by one. All the selected participants will take part in another trial camp in Dhaka under High Performance Unit Camp, from where 12 will be finally selected.
Following the end of the elimination round, top 12 players (10 male, 2 female) will be declared as winners. BCB’s high performance coaches and game development technical staffs are looking into the technical aspects of the Fast Bowler Hunt campaign.
