Sweetmeat shops fined Tk 60,000

A mobile court yesterday fined two sweetmeat shops to Tk60, 000 in Tin Pool and Batali Road areas of the city.
During the drive the court destroyed huge amount of putrefied, stale sweets and savour of three months old.
Mohammad Ruhul Amin, Revenue Deputy Collector (RDC) and executive magistrate of Chittagong District Administration led the mobile court.  “Producing sweets in unhygienic environment and, the savour which is used for the sweetmeat were dirty, stale, and putrefied and we have found insects were floating on savour which was using for making sweetmeats, said Ruhul Amin, the magistrate who led the court.
The court fined Tk50, 000 to Gosh Sweets of Tin Pool area and huge amount of putrefied, stale sweetmeat and savour were destroyed.
