CHITTAGONG: The elections to Chittagong District Bar Association (CDBA) will be held on February 10 with three panels contesting the election, reports BSS.
Election Commission sources said all preparations including printing of ballot papers have been completed and candidates have been urged to obey the election rules strictly. Chief Election Commissioner Advocate A K M Sirajul Islam Chowdhury told BSS that wall writing and pasting posters have strictly been prohibited.
Candidates are also obeying the rules and regulations as per the directives of the election commission, he added. Three panels, Awami League and pro-liberation forces backed Chattagram Sommilita Ainjibi Somonnay Parishad, progressive and left leaning Somomona Ainjibi Sangsad and pro- BNP-Jamaat backed Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Oikya Parishad are vying for posts in the election this year. CDBA sources said a total of 45 candidates are vying for the posts of 19 office-bearers including 10 executive committee members.
