BNP leader Mirza Abbas was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) from Dhaka Central Jail for medical check-up yesterday, reports UNB. He was brought to the hospital around 10:00am, said the jail superintendent, Jahangir Kabir. The superintendent also said Mirza Abbas has been suffering from high blood sugar and osteoporosis in the back. After the medical check-up, the BNP leader was taken back to the central jail.
On January 6, a Dhaka court sent Mirza Abbas to the jail rejecting his bail petition in two separate arson cases filed with Motijheel and Paltan police stations.
Earlier on the day, the BNP leader surrendered before the court and sought bail in four cases—two filed with Mirpur Police Station, one with Paltan and another with Motijheel police station. The court, however, granted him bail in two arson cases filed with Mirpur Police Station.
